Most people only know Mikky Ekko as the man behind Rihanna’s ‘Stay’, but the fact of the matter is that the talented singer-songwriter does indeed have a catalog of equally impressive tunes, ‘Mourning Doves’ being the latest in a long line of catchy tunes that warm the soul. It starts off with a Ekko’s soulful voice over a series of abrasions, before flowing smoothly into a harmonious four-chord melody. Sure, it’s pop. But we’d rather this than most other things on the radio.
